Today Mallory, Stuart, and I didn't have much time for 20% time but we managed to get some things done we figured out that Mallory has some wood already, so we do not have to buy the wood anymore. This will make our invention less expensive, which is good for people who would want to actually use The Stretcher to stretch themselves before they perform a sport. Also, we have been looking at the design for the stretcher. We also have a survey for people to fill out. The survey mostly is for athletes, because The Stretcher is designed to help athletes stretch. Also, Mallory has mad a sketch of the design of the Stretcher. This will allow us to start purchasing our supplies needed for The Stretcher soon. Also, we are looking for the tubing needed for The Stretcher at target and Home Depot we will all be making a trip to theses stores soon to look at prices and possibly purchase put supplies needed.

20% Project Friday October 11
Today Mallory, Stuart, and I researched and made decisions for our 20% project the stretcher. We decided on what products we will need for this project. The materials are zinc platted fixed pulley, black block of wood, over the door hangers, and then regular rope. The wood will be 25 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. The wood will cost twenty five dollars. The pulley is two inches and it will cost five dollars and we are ordering it from www.hardware.com. The money will be split between all of us. For the rope, we are going to Home Depot this weekend to look at prices, but not buy anything. For over the door hangers, we will purchase them from Target. The items will be purchased by late October or November. In December we hope to have a model of this project. The items will be purchased and the money will be split between all three of us.
20% Project Friday October 4
Today my group, Mallory, Stuart, and I created a new design for The Stretcher. The new design called for new materials. The new design needs a wooden or metal bar. Also, the elastic tubing will not be needed for this project anymore. The elastic tubing would not have offered the maximum amount of resistance for our stretcher. The elastic tubing would not let your arm or leg be pulled it only gave in to the resistance your leg was causing. In the new design, the wooden bar will be hung or nailed to the wall over the door by screws. We then will attach the pulleys to the sides of the bar. Finally we will string the rope with a hole on one end so you can put your foot through in one end and hold on the other end to stretch yourself. This is the new design for The Stretcher.
20% Project Friday September 27
Today me, Stuart, and Mallory researched for our project, The Stretcher. We figured out the supplies we need for this project. We are going to uses elastic tubes (resistance bands) and a stretch strap. A stretch strap is a braided rope with two hoops at the end. We cam across the stretch strap while we researched for our project. The stretch strap is great for our project because the hoops allow you to put your leg or arm through the hoop. Putting your leg or arm through the hoop will allow the stretcher to work properly. We are going to buy the rope and elastic tube in bulk, so when the items arrive they can be shortened so that the stretcher can be used effectively. We hope to have the these materials plus the stretch strap by October or November. We also set up a calendar for our project today. By December we should start working on the first draft of The Stretcher and fix any problems or kinks.
